The kindergarten class had fun recently in MET class. Technology was integrated with math and reading to focus on counting skills. The students listened to the story
Ten Apples Up On Top. The children then proceeded to predict how many apples they could balance on their heads like the characters did in the book. The students tried that and counted how many actually balanced. It wasn't very many! We then recorded this on the Ipad in an app that utilizes ten frames. As a class we decided it might be easier to balance our apples on a flat surface, so we tried using the bottom of a cup. This worked out better! Again, we recorded these results in an app. We didn't use real apples, but had fun counting anyway!
"Apple" balancing success!
